Librechan reuses their open source engine, which is why both websites may appear similar. Librechan is not affiliated with 8kun nor 8moe, and exists as an independent alternative focused on freedom and decentralization.
Librechan is a site running 'infinity', an open source software that allows anyone to create and manage their own anonymous imageboard without any programming or webhosting experience for free.
An imageboard is a type of internet forum where users post text and images anonymously. Threads are pruned over time as new content is added, unlike traditional forums.
Advantages over traditional forums:
Librechan hosts a wide variety of boards. Each board is maintained by its own volunteer or board owner. The global staff handles infrastructure, spam, and legal compliance only. Local board rules are enforced by their respective owners unless global policy or law is violated.
Navigate to a board, fill out the post form, and click "New Thread". An image may be required. If not, you can also use "Oekaki" to draw. Name and email are optional.
Threads are ordered by activity (newest bumped first). Replies are shown chronologically.
Click [Reply] on a thread to respond.
Fill in your comment and post.
Your reply will appear highlighted.
Click their post number to quote them. Replies to you will show (You).
Yes see the Global Rules:
All other rules are up to each board owner.

TL;DR: Librechan considers all nude images of minors to be illegal and they will be removed immediately, with bans applied if applicable.

No official owner. Managed by the Librechan admin team.
Some boards mimic ban pages using CSS. If you can post elsewhere, you're not globally banned.
No official app. One exists at wingy/Exodus (unofficial).
We dont currently host an official archive. Archive.today, Google Cache, and others may have mirrors. Official archives will be opt-in only.
